Giambrone Expands Intellectual Property Practice in German Market

International law firm Giambrone (SLG) today announces the appointment of former Hammonds lawyer Barbara Niemann Fadani as Partner of their German office and head of Intellectual Property Group in Munich.

Barbara has practiced at Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz in Frankfurt, Hammonds in Milan and joins Giambrone from her own practice; she has experience in contentious and non-contentious matters including trademarks, designs, copyright, competition and media law; she has represented clients before the common courts as well as the IP offices DPMA, EUIPO and WIPO.

Her appointment will further strengthen Giambrone’s international IP practice, in particular in the EU, enhancing the team’s ability to advise key clients locally and globally. The firm’s IP practice makes use of an extensive international footprint to serve as global coordinating counsel in multi-jurisdictional cases and have extensive experience working with the most qualified firms in local jurisdictions. The group also works closely with corporate, antitrust and tax lawyers in order to deliver intellectual property law advice from an integrated, multidisciplinary point of view.

“We are very pleased to announce this outstanding addition to the firm,” said Gabriele Giambrone, the firm’s Senior Partner - Barbara is an expert in both IP and technology and bringing her to Giambrone is an exciting coup given her industry-leading experience and skills. Giambrone Munich is a sound platform for developing a comprehensive IP offering for German and foreign clients in one of the strongest economies in Europe. We are aware that international corporations attach huge importance to their legal advisors having strong IP teams locally in the regions where they operate, and the German market is one of these key areas”

Barbara Niemann Fadani added: “I am delighted to join the renowned team at Giambrone. Joining Giambrone in its plans to expand in the German market and helping the firm to continue the fantastic work that the IP team has done over the last few years feels like a new challenge and the right next step in my career. I sincerely hope that my presence will support the further development of both the IP practice itself and the firm’s presence in Germany. Giambrone has a global platform that perfectly complements my practice and is consistent with my work for both leading global companies and smaller, regional companies”

Barbara’s appointment follows recent additions into SLG’s wider team, including Antonio Mazza, an Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Partner, into its Milan office
