Fernanda Stefani is a qualified solicitor of England and Wales and Avvocato Stabilito in Italy. Fernanda has Higher Rights of Audience and can appear before the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and other civil courts. She works in the Milan, Rome and London offices.

Fernanda trained in London at a Legal 500 law firm. She then went on to work at an award-winning firm, also in London, followed by an international law firm in Sicily before joining Giambrone.

Fernanda’s expertise extends in more than one direction, with proficiency in both commercial and private client matters. She is experienced in administrative, civil and family law as well as Court of Protection law, appearing before the county and high courts of England and Wales.

Fernanda can also advise on UK immigration, assisting European citizens in gaining settled status and British citizenship ensuring that applications are submitted with all relevant documentation and are valid.

Fernanda is a member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel and is a fierce advocate. She is skilled in bringing cases and applications to the Court of Protection. She regularly represents the Official Solicitor (litigation friend) in challenging Deprivations of Liberty as well as bringing matters under s16 Mental Capacity Act 2005 to court. She is also experienced in applying for Lasting Powers of Attorney and finance and property or health and welfare deputyship.

Fernanda regularly challenges the decisions of local authorities in the High Court by way of Judicial Review proceedings and has recently successfully obtained an interim and final order against the Government Legal Services in London.

With regard to Fernanda’s commercial capacity, she is experienced in litigating claims such as breach of contract, property disputes and intellectual property, recently advising a client on a complex High Court litigation involving an international intellectual property matter.

Fernanda also has expertise in contentious real estate matters where she regularly represents clients in the repossession of both rented and mortgaged property, disrepair and harassment proceedings. Fernanda assisted the Duty Solicitor in the Royal Courts of Justice throughout her training.

Fernanda frequently deals with cross-border matters, particularly in Italy and Brazil as well as other countries. As with all contentious matters, Fernanda is a robust litigator but also encourages ADR throughout proceedings and regularly settles claims through extensive negotiations, mediation, and conciliation. Fernanda works hard to ensure her clients achieve the best possible outcome.
