Translating documents into Spanish for an application for Citizenship
If you are intending to apply for Spanish citizenship; whether through nationality, descent or marriage, it is imperative to ensure your application is accurately completed and accompanied by the correct documentation to support your application. You will be asked to prove you are related to someone with Spanish heritage in order to apply for Spanish citizenship through descent. Application through naturalisation
An application for Spanish citizenship can be made following at least ten years of legal residency in Spain. An application for naturalisation is not related to your personal ancestry, history or marriage.
To make an application you will require the standard documentation, plus proof of residency in Spain for ten years or over.

Application by option
Spanish citizenship by option applies where you were born to a Spanish parent, adopted by a Spanish citizen, or born in Spain where your parentage is unknown, or at least one parent has Spanish nationality. With no required residency period, application by option requires a basic level of proof of your parentage or place of birth, usually through your birth or medical certificate, as well as identification of one or more parents.
