Martina Cavattoni

Legal Executive
Martina Cavattoni is a Legal Executive at the Barcelona office of the international law firm Giambrone & Partners SLP. Her profile is distinguished by a strong bilingual academic background and a clear international vocation, specialising in cross-border legal advisory between the Spanish and Italian jurisdictions.

A Law graduate from the University of Barcelona, Martina has focused her specialisation from the outset on Corporate Law, the subject of her undergraduate thesis. During her university studies, she was awarded a merit-based scholarship that enabled her to complete an academic year at the Università di Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum). This experience allowed her to gain in-depth knowledge of Italian private and corporate law institutions, enabling her to work fluently within both the Spanish and Italian jurisdictions. She also studied part of her degree in English, consolidating a strong command of Anglo-Saxon legal terminology.

Subsequently, she obtained her Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession and the Bar at the same institution, focusing her final thesis on Family Law. Her international career path was further strengthened through the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme awarded by the Barcelona Bar Association, which enabled her to undertake a placement at a law firm in Rome, Italy. This practical experience provided her with specialised insight into Italian procedural practice and the advice of international clients.

Areas of Practice

Thanks to her technical training across different jurisdictions and her international background, Martina provides comprehensive support in cross-border matters, assisting both individuals and Italian legal entities with interests in Spain, or vice versa.

Her main areas of practice include:

1. Corporate and Commercial Law (national and international)
  • Incorporation, dissolution and liquidation of companies.
  • Share capital increases and reductions.
  • Advisory on the acquisition and transfer of shareholdings.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Management of disputes relating to breach of contract and contract termination.
2. Cross-border Family Law
  • Divorce and separation proceedings with international elements.
  • Parental responsibility matters (custody, visitation rights and maintenance obligations).
  • International family wealth planning and management.
3. International Litigation
Due to her strong knowledge of comparative law, she regularly collaborates with Italian lawyers in litigation under Spanish jurisdiction. Her role is key in defining effective procedural strategies between both jurisdictions, ensuring the best possible defence of clients’ interests in international proceedings.
