Emanuele Castiglia

Emanuele works within the litigation department in the Palermo office. His expertise ranges from Italian civil procedure rules to private law, including property law, contract law and liability, professional negligence, non-contractual liability, international disputes, insurance litigation and administrative law.

Emanuele graduated from the University of Palermo in 2005 and has been a practising lawyer since 2008.

Recent matters include advising and filing judicial defences in connection with:

• A debt collection in Italy for freight companies;
• A non-contractual liability regarding a case of proceeding abuse;
• Legal advice on a case of clawback action;
• Legal advice on the enforceability of an asymmetric jurisdiction clause provided in an international contract;
• Legal advice on Italian property law (marital property regimes; inheritance law);
• Opposition proceedings against visa refusals in front of Latium Regional Administrative Court;
• O dispute with Italian car dealers for breach of contract;

In his spare time, Emanuele loves practising sports, travelling and reading books ( especially novels, essays, history books and biographies).
